DEA Subcontractors
MajorIBI (architecture) - Peter Zurawel
http://www.ibigroup.com/
IBI Group, as part of the DEA design consortium, is providing architecture and planning management. IBIGroup is also responsible for station design, station area planning, urban design, planning, TOD coordination and approvals. Open houses were conducted by the team to undertake outreach involvement in the community utilizing design charettes and workshops over a two year period. Two station architectural themes were developed in the charettes recognizing craftsman period housing in the communities in the corridor as well as elements of the historic 'radial line' rail car that formerly ran in the corridor in the early 20th century. IBI Group also coordinated Denver RTD, FTA and NFPA design standards, undertook engineering coordination, developed contract documents and specifications, designed a way-finding signage and corridor aesthetics program, performed stakeholder liaison and
approvals and safety and security certification coordination. Cost containment coordination with the CMCG is a cornerstone responsibility for elements under direct design responsibility.

Harris, Kocher, Smith (HKS) (surveying, sewer and water utilities) - Harry Strasser
http://www.harriskochersmith.com/
Harris Kocher Smith (HKS) was tasked with providing surveying services to David Evans and Associates for the design of the West Corridor Project for RTD. HKS was also responsible for designing the utilities along the corridor to avoid or mitigate conflicts, being added to the team to provide these services after the initial 65% submittal to RTD. Engineering and survey tasks included detailing utility relocations, following the proper standards and specifications for the various utility providers along the corridor and mapping portions of the alignment for design of the facilities. The surveying extents have included 200 yards north and south of 6th Avenue from Indiana Street to South Union Boulevard. A portion of 6th Avenue was also surveyed for proposed crossings of the roadway by the light rail. At the Cold Springs Park-n-Ride, a survey was completed for the entire station as well as South Union Boulevard south of 6th avenue for design of a light rail tie-in to that station.
HDR (bridge) - John Broadus
http://www.hdrinc.com/
HDR is providing final design services for two major bridges along the West Corridor. The first bridge is a five-span, 767-foot-long, double track, curved steel plate girder bridge over the Consolidated Main Line (CML) tracks operated by the Union Pacific and the BNSF railroads. This direct fixation, light rail transit (LRT) bridge will be built on a 300-foot-radius horizontal curve and subtends and angle of almost 90 degrees. The second bridge is an eleven-span, 1,532-foot-long, single track, 3rd level flyover bridge over the interchange at Indiana Avenue and 6th Avenue. This direct fixation bridge is broken into three separate frames with the two end frames consisting of curved, single-cell, cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete box girders and the middle frame consisting of curved steel plate girders that are haunched at the interior piers.

Triunity King Joint Venture (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) - Burt Singleton,
Triunity Engineering and Management, Inc. and S. L. King & Associates, Inc. have teamed up to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering (MEP/FP) services for the station structures on the West Corridor, including platform, plaza and parking lot lighting, driver relief stations, elevator mechanical systems, manual standpipes and emergency egress lighting. The team also provided MEP/FP design for a 530-space parking structure at the Jefferson County Administration and Courts Facility station.
