Denver Transit Construction GroupDenver Transit Construction Group (DTCG), RTD's Construction Manager/General Contractor on the West Corridor, are experts in constructing rail transportation projects in urban environments and have constructed the vast majority of LRT and passenger rail transit systems in the western United States in recent years.

John West - Project Manager
John is a construction manager with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He has gained a wealth of experience along the Front Range and Western Slope of Colorado. Before joining the Denver Transit Construction Group, John was the Vice President and Area Manager for Connell Resources, Inc. in their Steamboat Springs division, and prior to this position, he was the Executive Vice President for TARCO, Inc. where, during his tenure, the company almost doubled its annual revenue.
John has served as a field supervisor, project manager and operations manager for various heavy civil construction projects, with a primary emphasis on bridge-related projects. He holds a BS in Construction Management from Colorado State University. As a good Colorado native, John has a passion for the outdoors where he enjoys hiking and rafting, as well as skiing in the Colorado Rockies with his two children.
Terry Martin - Deputy Project Manager/Construction Manager
Terry comes to Denver from Orange County, California where he worked for Granite Construction for twelve years. His last project at Granite was the SR-22 Design Build Freeway. Terry was the Project Manager on this job which included a 12 mile, multi-lane addition featuring 33 bridges, 3 freeway interchanges, 54 ramp reconstructions and 55,000 sq m of retaining walls. With a special forte in project management, Terry successfully delivered the first phase of this project in an unprecedented 800 days.
Terry received a BS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, conferred with distinction, and holds a Masters degree in Construction Engineering and Management, also from Stanford University. He has been married for 23 years to his wife Julie and has two children.
Cory Abourezk - General Superintendent
Cory has been in Denver since 2007 and initially helped prepare budget pricing for Denver Transit Construction Group and RTD as the West Corridor design was solidified. His experience in the CM/GC environment and vast knowledge of cost estimation greatly impacted the final GMP pricing submitted to RTD.
Prior to his arrival in Denver, Cory was in Phoenix, Arizona, where he served as the General Superintendent for the Line Section 4 Light Rail Project. His previous experience includes the Interstate Max Light Project in Portland, Oregon and the Portland Streetcar phase's one and two and the Harrison Connection. He also worked as the Deputy Project Manager for the Lovejoy Viaduct Civil Redevelopment Project (HAZWOPER).
Cory is married and the proud father of three daughters. He enjoys golf, the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Jon Brazeal - Project Engineer
Jon Brazeal is the Project Engineer for DTCG on the West Corridor project. His duties are vast and far-reaching and include assuring that the project is built according to plans and that DTCG completes construction on time. He is also responsible for working with the field superintendents to develop the ongoing schedule and change resolution.
Jon came to DTCG in August, 2009, after working 10 years at Granite Construction in Orange County, California. His experience includes an array of high profile projects including the realignment of US20 in Oregon from Pioneer Mountain to Eddyville. Jon served as the Deputy Project Manager on this job and facilitated change orders, managed field and office engineers, project cost forecasting, long-term planning and scheduling, and subcontractor management. He also worked on the HOV widening of SR22 in Orange County. Here Jon worked on vertical retaining walls, bridge widening widening, bridge replacements, city street undercrossings and major freeway interchange improvements.
