Grade Crossing at Garrison

There are numerous locations along the West Corridor where light rail crosses an existing street.  RTD plans to implement a number of safety measures including quad gates, dual gates with medians, and street closures.  Click to see a list of grade crossings and how each is being addressed.  Concern has been voiced from the public regarding bells and whisles at these gated crossings.  RTD has agreed to submit an application to the Public Utilities Commission (the agency that oversees these grade crossings) requesting that no bells and whisles be used in the residential neighborhoods.  The application will be made to the PUC in fall 2007.
