Paco Disc Golf Course
Due to safety of the public and environmental protection, the Paco Disc Golf Course in the Lakewood Dry Gulch has been closed for the duration of construction of the West Corridor Light Rail line. Equipment and materials will be moving up and down the gulch along the trails during construction, which creates an unsafe place for pedestrians. Players on the course are often in the gulch and along the banks and therefore present a risk to overall project safety. RTD's CM/GC is also responsible for protecting the wetlands and has fenced the area for the duration of the construction project to ensure this protection. As soon as construction in the gulch area is complete, the course will be reconfigured and reopened. Contractor (DTCG) and RTD agree on Guaranteed Maximum Price
RTD and DTCG have agreed on a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the West Corridor project, bringing the overall cost of the corridor to $707 million. This figure was agreed on after weeks of negotiation and coordination. The increased cost is a direct result of skyrocketing material price increases over the past few month. This agreement 'locks' in the contractor price and allows RTD to submit their final application to the Federal Transit Administration for federal funding of the project.
