Area 2 Road Closures

There are no full road closures at this time. However, as West Rail crews continue work along the rail line, lane closures and restrictions will remain in effect.


Lane Closures

TUESDAY: February 7, 2012

* The recent snow fall in the Denver Metro area has constricted work on the West Rail Line. Operations are scheduled to resume once the weather subsides.

DAILY: Monday through Saturday 

13th Avenue South - West of Pierce Street
In order to accommodate for a Relay House relocation, West Rail Crews will be performing temporary road widening construction along 13th Avenue South, West of Pierce Street. Work is scheduled to begin on January 18, 2012 and expected to last approximately four weeks.

The work will not require any full roadway closures. However, 13th Avenue will be narrowed to one lane.

13th Avenue: Vance Street to Pierce Street
Potholing of utilities on 13th Avenue between Vance Street and Pierce Street will start January 18, 2012 and is expected to last approximately four weeks. This work will identify any possibly conflicts for future road construction.

The work will not require any full roadway closures. However, 13th Avenue will be narrowed to one lane.

Northbound Sheridan Boulevard: 10th Avenue - 13th Avenue
Sheridan Boulevard is in its final phase and West Rail crews will require lane drops between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

12th Place: Sheridan Boulevard - West of Ames Street
Crews have begun major construction on 12th Place, just west of the Sheridan Bridge. Activities in this area involve constructing a temporary cul-de-sac in the alley, storm drainage improvements, construction of a traction-powered substation and the reconstruction of 12th Place.

This work will require the temporary closure of the alley between 13th Avenue and 12th Place between Sheridan Boulevard and Ames Street and 12th Place between Sheridan Boulevard and just west of Ames Street while the cul-de-sac is built.
