B Line opens
RTD and its many partners celebrated the grand opening of the B Line Monday, July 25 with great fanfare.
More than a hundred people gathered for a ceremony to see a host of local dignitaries cut the ribbon to officially open the 6-mile commuter rail line that runs between Union Station and Westminster. The ceremonies were immediately followed by free rides on the new line for the rest of the day.

RTD's new B Line, formerly known as the Northwest Rail Line, brings a whole new transportation option to Westminster.
"The B Line to Westminster not only provides transportation for riders from Westminster to Denver, but also offers riders multi-modal connections at Union Station to get them anywhere they want to go in the region." said RTD Board Chair Tom Tobiassen.
"RTD continues our year of a transportation renaissance with the opening of the B Line," said General Manager and CEO of RTD, Dave Genova. "With the opening of five new projects this year, the Denver metro area will be connected through transit like never before. And now, the citizens of the Westminster area will be able to travel to and from Denver to Westminster in no time flat."
