First CU A Line station openThe first station to open for the future University of Colorado A Line between Union Station and the airport is Central Park Station. It's now open for Park-n-Ride service.
Commuter trains testing at 79 mphCommuter rail testing on the CU A Line took two steps forward when RTD and its contractor on the project, Denver Transit Partners, began testing trains at 45 mph Sept. 11, 2015. And then on Sept. 15, we got the go ahead to test at our trains' maximum speed of 79 mph between East 40th Avenue and York Street in Denver and the 40th Ave & Airport Blvd•Gateway Park Station in Aurora. New train station part of East RailIf you've traveled to the airport the past few months, chances are you've noticed what looks like a ghost station east of Peña Boulevard just north of the 56th Avenue interchange.
That is actually a brand new station that has been added to the East Rail Line. Read more about it.
Naming rights approved for A LineThe RTD Board of Directors approved the agency's first naming rights agreement. It's a first-of-its-kind partnership for RTD and it's with the University of Colorado. Read more here.
Powered testing of commuter rail cars underwayTwo of RTD's new commuter rail cars pulled into the station at Denver International Airport for the first time Friday, April 17. Read more.
First commuter rail cars arrive in DenverRTD's first 4 commuter rail cars have arrived from the assembly plant in Philadelphia. They are at Union Station and you're invited to tour them December 3-6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
