About the Project
The Northwest Rail Line is a 41-mile commuter rail project from Denver Union Station to Longmont, passing through North Denver, Adams County, Westminster, Broomfield, Louisville and Boulder. As part of the voter-approved FasTracks program, the Northwest Rail Line Environmental Evaluation (EE) identified the best way to provide high-quality, reliable transit service to the area while improving travel times and enhancing access to jobs, recreation and entertainment.The Northwest Rail Line environmental study process included:
- A community involvement process
- An analysis of the environmental impacts of implementing commuter rail
- Full disclosure of how the project impacts surrounding communities and environmental resources
