The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requested that the ridership modeling for the North Metro Corridor be re-run and incorporated into the environmental document prior to submitting the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for approval. The North Metro team is currently analyzing the results. During the development of the Final EIS, the public will be kept involved through newsletters and electronic communications as well as public and local governments meetings. Public Hearings will be held in early 2011, and it is anticipated that the FTA will authorize a decision document in March 2011.

Latest NewsThe North Metro Corridor is a proposed 18-mile rail transit corridor between Denver Union Station and 162nd Avenue, passing through Denver,Commerce City, Thornton, Northglenn and unincorporated Adams County.

As part of the voter-approved FasTracks program, the North Metro Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will identify the best way to provide a high-quality, reliable, high-capacity, fixed guideway transit service for the area while improving travel times and enhancing access to jobs, recreation and entertainment.

A special sub-component effort called the "Northeast Area Strategy" will investigate alignment and station/park-n-Ride opportunities for future high-capacity transit between downtown Denver and Brighton. More on that effort will be posted as soon as it is available.

Public input is crucial to the success of the North Metro EIS. We encourage you to use this site to learn about the project, and we welcome your comments and feedback.
