Project Background

In 2001, RTD completed the I-225 Major Investment Study, Parker Road to Interstate 70.  The purpose was to identify a mix of conceptual alternatives, screen those that would not satisfy certain evaluation criteria, perform a detailed analysis on a short-list of alternatives, and arrive at a locally preferred alternative (LPA). The process balanced various interests and impacts including mobility, cost, public support, environmental and community impacts.

In 2005, RTD completed the 3 Corridors Scoping Study, which furthered RTD's analysis of the I-225 corridor. The study highlighted a number of options and areas of refinement to be considered in the next phase. These are being considered as part of the current study.
