Commuter train makes test run to Arvada on G Line
A commuter train made a test run into Arvada along the G Line for the first time on July 21, 2016. The video was shot in the area of Sheridan Boulevard and Ralston Road.
Testing on the new rail line that runs 11 miles between Union Station in downtown Denver and Wheat Ridge is increasing as we get the system ready to open to the public in the fall.
The G Line will connect Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Adams County and northwest Denver with the rest of our growing rail system at the Union Station Transit Center.
The new line includes eight stations with seven new Park-n-Ride facilities. Some of those stations are the focus of new transit-oriented development or TOD.
The city of Arvada, for example, made a significant investment in acquiring property and funding for structured parking around the Olde Town Arvada Station. It allowed RTD to accelerate TOD at that location.
