Gold Line Corridor
Gold Line Draft Environmental Impact Statement Now Available
After two years of screening and analysis, the Gold Line Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) is now available for review. Public hearings will be held on August 6 and 7 to gather comments on the Gold Line DEIS, which contains the comprehensive environmental analysis and proposed mitigation measures for the project. Please visit the Draft EIS section of our website for all the information and resources you'll need to review and comment on this important document. The DEIS was made available to the public on July 18, 2008, kicking off a 45-day public comment period that ends on September 1, 2008.
The Gold Line is a proposed 11.2-mile rail transit corridor from Denver Union Station to the vicinity of Ward Road, passing through northwest Denver, unincorporated Adams County, Arvada and Wheat Ridge. The Gold Line and Northwest Rail (the FasTracks project that connects downtown Denver to Bouler and Longmont) share the alignment between Denver Union Station and Pecos Street. As part of the voter-approved FasTracks program, the Gold Line Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will identify the best way to provide a high-quality, reliable transit service for the area while improving travel times and enhancing access to jobs, recreation and entertainment.
Public input is crucial to the success of the Gold Line EIS. We encourage you to use this site to learn about the project, and we welcome your comments and feedback.
