Rail Welding for the Tracks to the Airport
Denver Transit Partners construction crews have begun welding steel rail along Peña Boulevard. It's a process called flash-butt welding, electrically forging a connection between rails for a smooth ride on your trip along RTD's commuter rail lines.
Commuter Rail Bridge Construction Over Peña Boulevard at DIA
Work began in June on the 1,953-foot Commuter Rail bridge over Denver International Airport's Peña Boulevard. Look for this work on the north side working its way southward.
Broadway-Brighton Bridge Girder Installation
Six prestressed concrete girders were placed over the Broadway-Brighton Boulevard underpass in the Coors Field parking lot during an overnight street closure April 4. This is the first bridge to go under construction on the East Rail Line.
